Spain Beat Latvia, Belgium Hold Off Turkey 04 July 2009

Spain clinched first place in Group B after celebrating their third consecutive triumph in an 81-62 upset of Latvia.

Latvia trailed 39-35 at half-time and were handed a blow when Spain went on an 18-5 run over the next 10 minutes to cruise to victory.

Tournament hosts Sweden cruised to a 74-44 victory over Bulgaria on the opening day of the U18 European Championship for Women.

The Swedish defense wreaked havoc on the Bulgarians, who committed 33 turnovers in the game.
